Can't necessarily suggest that anybody else will have the same experience I have, but I just got it today and I'm very pleased with my overall experience. Overall, I've been quite happy with the outcome by looking at Adorama. So, even if youre getting a used, refurbished MacBook Pro with a few years of use in it, you can rest assured that it will have a high-quality display thatll leave you satisfied and smiling. The one downside is that it looks to be ineligible for AppleCare+ due to its original purchase date (which I only guessed), so I'll have to go with a third-party warranty like Upsie. MacBook Pro Retina 13.3-inch (2019) - Core i5 - 8GB - SSD 128 GB. Realistically, I'd call it "open box" compared to "used". I saved $300+ and got a machine with only 1 power cycle (which I thought was crazy) and looks brand new. And for one reason or another, Adorama's taxes were less than half of what Apple or Amazon would have made me pay. The same configuration from Amazon is $2449 brand new before taxes. I could utilize the extra power as a software developer, but realistically I'll be using this for personal projects, music production, etc. For the price difference, I was willing to let up on some of the additional performance.

I ended up landing on a used configuration (Excellent condition) from Adorama which was Core i9 2.3GHz, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Radeon 5500M 4GB for $2149.

A bit tough for me to swallow, so I started looking around elsewhere. The configuration I really wanted was Core i9 2.3GHz, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD, Radeon 5500M 8GB.Īnd that's a whopping ~$3139 before another ~$260 in taxes. For the past several weeks I have been eyeballing the refurb 16" MacBook Pros and just couldn't get myself to buy one.
